Six Months of Great Exhortations

Six months ago today, I posted my first blog on Great Exhortations.

My life has been very much up in the air this year. My boyfriend and I have been long distance since I graduated college in 2014. My professional life hasn’t been satisfying, and I’m not making progress in my career like I thought I would. But at a time when little else has felt stable, reading has been one of the most consistently good things in my life.

I want to take this, the day of my six-month-blogiversary, to say how grateful I am for this blog and for the book blogging community. I have read more in the past six months than I have in years. Reading is fulfilling and inspiring in ways I cannot even begin to articulate. Taking a few hours a week to talk about books and stories and what I love on this little blog has been a godsend. I love reading all of your blogs and discovering new stories through you. And I am grateful to every single reader who has stopped by my corner of the Internet.

If you’re interested in reading some of my less sappy musings, check out my post on Book and a Beverage on The Book Addict’s Guide. And thanks for stopping by. I look forward to discussing books with you.

This is a fantastic post and I think many people can relate with the stagnation of their real lives, allowing books to be the thing that really opens them up to new worlds and possibilities. Thank you for sharing all of your thoughts with the Blogosphere. ^.^
